Child Abuse: An Ugly and Painful Reality

Child Abuse: An Ugly and Painful Reality

Toys, Ice cream, songs, giggles and smiles and memories everyone should have from their childhood, but they are not. Many children only have Tears and silences as memories. Child Abuse, especially abuse in schools and sexual abuse has become an epidemic, spreading everywhere, attacking our young vulnerable ones.
Child Abuse violates the most basic rights of children and adolescents. It manifests itself in different forms, including physical and psychological aggresion, sexual abuse, and takes place in the home, in our neighbourhood, at school, at work… Abuse tends to be transmitted from one generation to the next, and the individuals most often responsible are parents or other adult members of the household.

Child Abuse is massive, daily and under-reported problem that affects us. India has the largest number of children in the world and the highest instances of Child Abuse, We are all aware, but either diminish its relevance; or simple do not want to acknowledge this reality. The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.

We owe our children, our most vulnerable and valuable citizens, a life free of violence and fear. Safety and security don’t just happen; they are the result of collective consensus and effort.

While this is a huge problem, we have taken a few baby steps. It is our endeavour to give our children an innocent, happy childhood. We made a short film on child abuse… we request you kindly screen this film in your school, organization, to make people aware of what they may be doing knowingly or unkowingly, and to join our campaign in protecting small innocent children. It takes a community to protect children, and your support can help save someone from the evils of child abuse. Please help us.
